Keynote speech at ASA conference draws upon John’s research in Micronesia

Marilyn Strathern, distinguished anthropologist of the University of Cambridge, recently presented a keynote speech at the annual Association of Social Anthropologists of the UK and Commonwealth that drew upon a recent article published by John Wendel. Professor Strathern was elected lifetime President of the Association of Social Anthropologists of the UK and Commonwealth and was knighted in 2001.

Recent article in Anthropological Forum

Anthropological Forum, an Australian journal of social anthropology, recently published an article by John in an edited volume on the notion of the possessive individual in the Pacific. The article draws upon John’s three years of ethnographic fieldwork in the islands of Micronesia in the Pacific.
